Welcome to Sarai's Verbal Corner!
I have been teaching the verbal portion of the GMAT, preparing students for the TOEFL, and providing editing services to university applicants, academics, and corporations world-wide for eight years.
Language, not unlike math,
works according to logical rules.
When it comes to the GMAT, it is important to me that, as we solve problems together, students see the conceptual structure behind the real GMAT problems and everything that the GMAT does to create wrong answers. Once understood, these concepts allow students to answer questions quickly and with confidence.
At the end of the day, speed and confidence are what push students from a 500 to a 650, a 650 to a 740, or a 700 to a 780.
Likewise, on the TOEFL or in process of improving English communication skills, understanding and leveraging clear, efficient language is the key to success. Besides learning how to best approach the different sections of the exams, you will gain skills during your studies that will prove useful throughout your professional career.
